Ruth Rosalion, Clinical Psychologist

I bring a wealth of experience and passion to my field as a clinical psychologist. I have been in private practice for over 35 years, having worked in Australia and in the United States, in paediatric and adult psychiatric and medical health settings, in addition to holding a post as a school counsellor.

My background has led me to continue my interest in working across the lifespan, with children, adolescents, adults and families. I have also taught at University and further acted as a supervisor of postgraduate students, both at Masters and Doctoral level, through Melbourne, La Trobe and RMIT Universities. I maintain my commitment to offering supervision to postgraduate and fully qualified psychologists and offer public lectures and professional training programs.

I am also firmly committed to my own ongoing professional development. My theoretical orientation is primarily cognitive-behavioural, although techniques from other frameworks are utilised, where indicated. I hold all the appropriate registrations and professional memberships and am approved for supervision at all levels. I am a registered Medicare provider. Special interests include anxiety, depression and autism spectrum disorders, undertaking both comprehensive assessments and therapy.

Most of all, on a personal level, I enjoy practising as a clinician and working alongside people to help them make positive changes to their lives and well-being. I bring compassion, commitment, confidentiality, balance and humour to sessions, with the aim of a mutually enriching experience.
